I have seen firsthand the massacre that has unfolded in Tanzania a tragedy wrapped in silence and fear.

Samia Suluhu shut down the internet, suspended broadcasting, and turned darkness into her greatest weapon. In that blackout, she fed on the innocent blood of Tanzanians men, women, and children whose only crime was believing in freedom.

Then, without shame, she declared herself president with a fabricated 98% vote silencing dissent, threatening voices, and forcing citizens to confuse fear for patriotism.

In a just world, she would be behind bars paying for every tear, every grave, every scream swallowed by censorship. But because this is Africa, where impunity too often disguises itself as leadership, she walks free.

We must not accept this silence. To speak is to resist; to stay silent is to participate in the crime.

Tyranny thrives not because the tyrant is strong, but because the people have forgotten their own strength.

And The day we stop being afraid of power is the day power starts being afraid of us.
