Ottawa has introduced Bill C-38 to extend the federal fuel excise tax suspension through Jan. 31, 2027.

From Feb. 1 to Mar. 31, the tax would return at half the normal rate:

10¢ → 5¢/L
11¢ → 5.5¢/L
4¢ → 2¢/L
