Take notice of all the propaganda in just one headline:

"More than 900 killed" - killed by whom? No perpetrator is listed.

"In Gaza" - many western media outlets have a policy of not using the word "Palestine" as it legitimizes the existence of a Palestinian state in their eyes.

"Hamas-run Health Ministry" - killing the messenger by claiming it is a proxy of a group the BBC has presented as terrorists for decades, despite even the Israeli government conceding the Health Ministry's numbers are consistently the most accurate out there.

I appealed to the Secretary General of the Commonwealth to make representations to the government of Pakistan on behalf of @ImranKhanPTI .
I said “The Commonwealth Charter commits its members to democracy, human rights, the rule of law, good
governance and the separation of powers. Those principles have meaning only if the Commonwealth is prepared to defend them when they come under serious pressure within a member state.”
My original letter is in the next post. Here is the response I received.
As a former Minister for the Commonwealth, I recognise this for what it is- code for saying “we are doing absolutely nothing”.
It is, frankly, a disgrace.

Sydney, 1977. The day Imran Khan changed Pakistan cricket forever!

Pakistan had been playing Test cricket in Australia for a long time without a single victory.

Then came a young, fiercely determined Imran Khan.

At the Sydney Cricket Ground, the 24-year-old fast bowler tore through an Australian batting line-up packed with names like Greg Chappell, Doug Walters and Rod Marsh - taking 12 wickets, six in each innings, as Pakistan won by eight wickets to record their first-ever Test victory on Australian soil.

But the numbers tell only part of the story.

Imran bowled consecutive eight-ball overs spell - unchanged for long period in brutal conditions, generating relentless pace and aggression.

And somewhere in that spell, a young Imran Khan announced himself to the cricketing world.

Wisden would later choose his Sydney performance as the best Test performance of 1977, describing it as the match in which he announced himself as a world-class quick.

That victory was more than just a win.
It was a statement.

From Sydney onwards, Pakistan cricket began to believe it could beat anyone, anywhere.

And at the centre of that transformation stood a young man with a torn shirt, a fast arm and an extraordinary will to win.
