@KingsCollegeLon@KingsECS@KingsSSPP Hi there - this sounds fantastic. Is there any way for teachers/schools to access the EAL assessment materials? We are aware of and using the Bell Framework. Many thanks!
What pupils learn is what they think about. And what they think about is what they attend to. Attention is the gatekeeper of learning.
However, we can only attend to a few things at once.

@rs_EAL @EAL_naldic @BellFoundation @Bethan_Southern Hello Team #EAL -quick Q on reading/new to English. I can't find research re efficacy of phonics programmes at secondary. Any recs for either a) a programme you rate or b) where I might find some evidence for this? Many thanks!
@rs_EAL @EAL_naldic @BellFoundation @Bethan_Southern Yes absolutely as supplement and not a substitution, goal is to empower students in the decoding&encoding of eg social/transactional/academic language they are acquiring; learn to read to facilitate reading to learn; offer the best chance to attain outcomes in line with peers.
@rs_EAL @EAL_naldic @BellFoundation @Bethan_Southern We have a no. of children at the noment arriving without first language literacy which I think is an exacerbating factor. As an aside, does it make a difference woth this if first language uses a non-roman script e.g Arabic, Russian?
@AQA@ChrisMFLTandL Hi KG I am getting the same message, as is my exams officer... so I can't access any results info?? I will also drop you a DM and am grateful to you in advance for your help with this.
