@JaredB_BSBL Here's the problem. The parents can't decide if they care about winning or not. They get mad when coaches don't play to win, but then when a coach wants to win and tells them no swimming they get mad. Just make up your mind. You want them to be kids? Great, don't care about Ws
@gregordillon1 I've done it once, had a 12u SS boot 4 balls in an inning. Didn't pull him because I was upset, pulled him because he was beside himself pissed at himself and needed a chance to cool off and understand that sometimes that shit just happens. It's baseball, and the ball finds you.
Coaches:
For the love of player development and preparing kids for the next level, please stop allowing them to stroll into first base on a ball hit to the outfield and barely make a turn. Instill habits their coaches at the next level will be looking for.
Hard down the line, good turn and aggressive past the bag ready for a mistake so they can maybe advance.
Doesn’t matter that they do it on TV, stop allowing lazy baseball.
As an AD, nothing bothers me more than seeing a kid post highlights within an hour after a loss. I get it, that is the world now, but nothing screams me over team louder. Winning matters. So does how you handle losing.
@voodoo1836@dantypo I have both dogs and kids. I agree with you that a good chunk of kids are absolute shit sticks. I also agree that there are some really really well behaved dogs. But the dipshit kid isn't jumping on my leg when I walk by them in the store, leave the dogs home
@CoachSwit I heard it described perfectly one time. You can travel a few hours away then lie to all your friends about your kid’s performance. When it’s Friday night and the entire community is there watching you, there’s no hiding from that.
@DannyDipBuyer@CoachMarcusHill It's a much bigger issue than that. You're one coach that is probably doing a great job, but I'm sure there are adults in your league making decisions that you, a baseball mind, shake your head and say "but why?" So yes, your team you coach may be fine, but the league overall?
We thought ABS would spare Aaron Boone ejections, but he thought of a loophole. Win the challenge and then tell the umpire he's a fucking idiot. Life finds a way.
@byrd_javonta@4thandsaturday And yet it only cost $80 for the weekend to watch it live in person....it shouldn't be 25% of the in person cost to watch it on TV....
