It's kind of funny that Tulsi Gabbard, John Fetterman, Jared Golden, and Marie Glusenkamp-Perez were all Bernie supporters in 2016.
What did y'all think anti-establishment meant?
Someone who *repeatedly* steals toothpaste to fence it for cash, ABSOLUTELY should be arrested.
And the vast majority of shoplifting of toiletry products is for that purpose, not some broke guy trying to help his family.
We're not doing this performative pro-crime stuff again.
“Sen. Ed Markey calls it “a head-spinning ritual” — if his head spins when the clock changes, maybe that’s a sign he’s too old to do the job of a U.S. Senator” https://t.co/topYY6dizw
I get mods being squeamish about being asked to defend unpopular positions from some leftier folks in the coalition. But here's the thing: you don't have to defend them. You should say those positions are wrong loudly and often!
It's coalition politics. Not a suicide pact.
Obama picked the right person to carry the torch, such a shame the country suffered a severe case of Hillary Derangement Syndrome and has now lived through 10 years of mediocrity and mismanagement.
If Peltola had chosen to run for the open-seat governor position, she'd probably be the odds-on favorite to win.
And governor is a much better job. More personal power, Dems actually weirdly enough have coalition majorities in both chambers of the AK legislature, and no 12+ hour flight to DC (and remember her husband passed away recently in a plane crash.)
But she challenged an incumbent for Senate, which is much more important nationally. An extremely noble personal sacrifice. Many Dems (cough cough Whitmer, the 10 million people running in ME gubernatioral) could learn from her.
