I´ve seen airplane crashes that looked nowhere nearly as violent as this auto wreck in the Nurburgring
That’s the kind of crash where you’re gone before you even realize what hit you. The guy in the BMW was being incredibly reckless trying to squeeze past that Porsche at 125 mph.
@Igneo42 The real issue is that toriel doesn’t have anybody who’s sturdy enough with her for her to have the same callout. However, she’s starting to wake up to how much she should’ve done at the end of the game so that’s supposed to be her redemption the same way Asgore says he fucked up
Undertale and Deltarune fans are so fucking stupid. THIS WHOLE PART ISNT SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT HOW GOOD THE PLAN IS ITS A CALLOUT OF ASGORE PRETENDING TO DO THIS FOR MONSTERKIND AND PEOPLE ARE FALLING FOR ASGORE’S FUCKING FACADE
Undertale very clearly spells out that he could've easily made One sacrifice of dubious morality and then proceed forth to immediately free everyone by targeting evil people, but he prolonged everyone's suffering and preyed on the weak that fell into his domain, out of self pity
@Igneo42 Monster + 1 human soul are hyped up so much a war is fought over them so we can assume it’s plenty (when you try.) Regardless of how logical it is, Asgore didn’t do it because of logic. Toriel is saying this so Asgore doesn’t make excuses to her.
@TrixyTrixter@Igneo42 Ignoring the idea of how long they’ll hold onto a loved one’s soul (because I have already said I find it very difficult to imagine people would part ways with such regardless) Do you really think souls wouldn’t be a topic of study?
@TrixyTrixter@Igneo42 Once again, this is a logistics issue. Not impossible. But difficult. Which is what I said and not what I’m concerned with because I’m pointing out that it this is a callout of Asgore.
@Igneo42@TrixyTrixter I’m imagining humans also have soul capsules for mourning (or alternatively maybe people donate their souls the same way people donate bodies) but, once again, don’t imagine people are so keen on giving up something so personally (and probably expensive)
@Igneo42 Yeah. Toriel sucks. That’s not the concern of the original tweet nor many of the people defending the point. Unfortunately many people go “Toriel is 100% morally right” or “Asgore is 100% logically right” and ignore the actual interesting parts of the characters.
@TrixyTrixter@Igneo42 Because I don’t imagine many people are willing to give up something so close to them. The main point is Asgore doesn’t want to go through with the plan and it’s a callout.
@TrixyTrixter@Igneo42 Do both of you think that you’re immortal unless someone slices your neck open? Souls are definitely obtainable from people passing away peacefully, people holding the souls of their loved ones, etc. but regardless the logistics don’t concern me
@Igneo42 Also, awesome non-points you make. Just throwing in details like “time looping child” even though that’s just pointless because ASGORE WASNT FUCKING TRYING HIS HARDEST.
@Igneo42 Famously, Asgore was 100% going to actually absorb the souls and kill the entirety of humanity and wasn’t just killing humans and hoping another never fell and when he comes face to face with the reality that he would go through with the plan he half-asses it.
@Igneo42 I also do not know why you’re taking this as an argument that Toriel is clean. She suffers the same fault as Asgore and she *slightly* admits some blame during the true pacifist ending.
@Igneo42 Also, even if we DID want to say 1 wasn’t enough. Two isn’t? Three? Four? Five? SIX? If he truly wanted to go through with it he would’ve at the very least absorbed the human souls to kill frisk but he doesn’t do that. The plan is to pretend humans will never pop-in and die.
@carbeeDM This whole facade he presents to his people to make them believe he’s 100% in on his plan is what Toriel wanted to break. That Asgore can’t hide behind “this is for the people” when the reality is “he doesn’t want anything to happen but wants to keep his people hopeful”
@carbeeDM He did it for himself because it felt good in the moment and felt obligated to continue the path because he was too much of a coward to go back on his word when he saw how much it mattered to his people. I do not know where you pulled “never accept I’m wrong” from what I said.
