Guys... If 2000 of us all went to KPA and paid 50k as entrance for Sidney's child that would translate into 100million.
If that money is placed in a unit trust for the child, at 18 he can get over 600 million.
@piratesfansug@Kingsparkarena
@PoliceUg we expect a full report on arrests and action taken against all those responsible for the murder of Sydney Gongodyo!!
This unfortunate incident has drawn me to a similar incident I faced myself at Nyege Nyege 2019. I left a group of friends to wander around whilst walking alone.
Amidst no where two men grabbed me in public alleging I’d been seen pickpocketing someone’s phone. I initially resisted knowing I’d done no such thing. But the more I resisted the more people ganged up on me. I was forced to ask the men to negotiate!! These men drew me to the side and asked for everything I had. (Btw these guys were private security fully dressed in bouncer like wear).
I handed over everything including all my money and other belongings. Luckily, I hadn’t wandered with a phone.
After handing over, the guys counted the money and said I could go!
Noteworthy is this area was darkish and it was late in the night. In disbelief and with Dutch courage, I continued to pursue these guys to figure out if this was mistaken identity or a deliberate move to blackmail, use force and extort of which failure to comply would have several physical consequences arising out of being framed!
After handing over I moved to a parallel corner and observed these guys. In my time there I witnessed two other victims in a space of about 15 minutes. From my observation it was clear these guys were targeting young men who were walking alone. They never attempted the move on a person walking in a group or with a friend.
I learnt that these guys were willing to escalate and beat you to pulp claiming you’re actually a thief if you resisted to corperate. One of them was always allegedly the victim and you’d be given zero chance to explain yourself to the stupid public who quickly joined the mob without getting context but on impulse of initial accusers!
This is the reason why as a society we must reject mob justice collectively by all means and make a contribution by never participating and further playing a role in de-escalating such incidents and allowing the law take its path.
Blackstone’s formulation or Blackstone’s ratio, after the English jurist William Blackstone states that:
“It is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer.”
Rest in Peace Sydney! Didn’t know you personally but we studied at the same school at the same time.
@ReachDrMuganga is undermining a legitimate debate by framing it as discrimination against him as a Munyarwanda. That is not the issue. An expired passport does not mean one ceases to be a citizen; a passport is merely a travel document. Many Ugandan citizens do not even hold passports.
The real issue is straightforward: if you acquired Rwandan citizenship while working in Rwanda, Canadian citizenship while in Canada, and later Ugandan citizenship, then simply state the facts as they are. There is nothing inherently wrong with holding multiple citizenships. The question is whether Uganda’s Constitution and laws permit a person with that citizenship history to hold certain offices, including that of Minister. That is the debate—not ethnicity.
Unpopular opinion: The parliament was right to block Dr. Muganga.
Dual citizenship disqualifies you from certain offices. That's the law. Respect it.
But to those paid to fake cry that Uganda is "losing" him losing him to what exactly?
He's already here. Already building. Already impacting.
The real question is: why do we only value people when they're in government?
We've normalised treating public office as the highest form of service, when for most, it's just the highest form of access to public funds.
Support Dr. Muganga's work.
Buy his books. Champion his university. Amplify his ideas.
You don't need to be minister to matter.
