We also found that zooplankton diversity was affected uniquely depending on if the contaminants were in a mixture or not. However, we only detected effects above environmental concentrations.

We found that among marine contaminants detected near Stenungsund (area with many industries), the phthalate DBP and the surfactant SDS were drivers of toxicity. Phthalates are additives in plastic that makes them more flexible and surfactants are common ingredients in detergents
