One of the worst excesses of fandom brain is the assumption that all writers have specific characters they hate and design narratives with the singular goal of punishing them
Since day one with HOTD there has been a prevailing notion that narrative beats are both over-explained, and simultaneously make no sense and happen out of nowhere. Almost like the real issue is an inability to accept what's happening on screen
Actually, having Rhaenyra's initial ascension to power be marred by a male-coded act that she feels forced to undertake, not because its actually part of a rulers duties, but because she must emulate men to prove worthy of ruling a misogynistic society, is excellent writing.
Am I the only one who thinks Caraxes is one of the weaker performances in HOTD? His reaction to smelling those unwashed northerners was way off.
Is it the acting or the directing? Or am I not being critical enough?
Yes or no?
@NerdInWhileLoop Before criticizing a change from the book, at least read the book.
Aegon was already saved and nowhere is it said saving Viserys was a goal (burning ships he could potentially be in would be a weird way to save him anyway)
it doesnโt rlly seem like jace died trying to save his brothers in f&b? by the time jace joined the battle he already knew aegon was safe + it was presumed viserys had died. so he wasnโt swooping low to find them ๐ตโ๐ซ
@LordFleaBottom_ This is literally the most willfully ignorant fandom. The writers can literally spoon feed the info (as they did here) & you still get ppl complaining it โmade no sense.โ Are they really this dense or is this just performative rage baiting? Canโt tell.
Iโve lived in DC my whole life. A mouse farting on The Mall would be caught on camera. But Fat Caligula wants you to believe a vandal carved a swath of pool liner the length of a football field w a box cutter in one of the most public spaces in the city and thereโs no video?!? ๐
