In an important coordination meeting to streamline the Agniveer recruitment process, Maj Gen Manish Kumar, YSM, SM**, Additional Director General (ADG), Recruiting Zone (UP & Uttarakhand) met Maj Gen MPS Gill, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Uttarakhand Sub Area. The meeting focused on reviewing preparedness, identifying bottlenecks and charting the way ahead for recruitment rallies for recruiting year 2027 scheduled to commence shortly with ARO Almora due to host the first of the series of rallies.

The ADG and the GOC discussed operational/ logistical aspects and security measures required to be coordinated between the Army and Civil Administration at rally venues in Uttarakhand. Emphasis was laid on incorporating lessons learnt from the previous rallies to ensure seamless conduct and maximize outreach to aspirants.

# Strengthening the Civil-Military Synergy for Agniveer Rallies in Uttarakhand #

In a significant engagement to bolster the Agniveer recruitment drive, Maj Gen Manish Kumar, YSM, SM**, Additional Director General (ADG) of the Recruiting Zone (UP & Uttarakhand) held a comprehensive discussion with Mr Anand Bardhan, Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand in presence of Mr Shailesh Bagauli, Secretary Home at the State Secretariat in Dehradun. The meeting focused on further strengthening the collaborative framework to ensure seamless conduct of recruitment rallies slated to commence soon for the recruiting year 2027.

Given that Zonal Recruiting Office (UP & UK) oversees the largest recruitable population, the discourse underscored the vital importance of civil-military cooperation. As the Army reaches out to the far-flung districts of the
state, especially in the hilly areas, the role of local administration remains central to managing logistics, infrastructure and management of the large turnout of aspirants at the various rally locations in the State.

During the interaction, the ADG emphasized that the mission goes beyond mere selection as it is a shared endeavor to ignite the patriotic spirit of the youth. One of the crucial objectives discussed was to encourage more participation from women candidates of Uttarakhand to serve in the Armed Forces.

ADG also conveyed the Army's appreciation for sound administrative support provided by the state during the conduct of CEE held in Jun 2026. The State Administration reaffirmed its commitment to continuing with the steadfast support, recognizing that today’s recruits are the future defenders of the nation.

🌿🇮🇳 SPECIAL TREE PLANTATION BY 130 INFANTRY BATTALION (TERRITORIAL ARMY) AS PART OF HARELA WEEK 2026

130 Infantry Battalion (TA) Ecological Kumaon conducted a special plantation drive in Banani, planting 10,000 saplings with the active participation of the Village Panchayat, local civilians, and school children. 🌱👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

🎯 The Battalion has set an ambitious target of 70,000 saplings during Harela Week, culminating in a Mega Plantation Drive on 16 July at Lelu, Pithoragarh, in collaboration with the State Forest Department, Civil Administration, Indian Army, CAPF, volunteers, and the local community. Together, we are building a greener and more sustainable future. 🌳🤝

While travelling from Banbasa to Pithoragarh on 08 Jul 2026, Maj Gen VK Patra, MG Med, #UttarBharatArea, noticed an individual lying unconscious on the roadside following a road traffic accident and immediately stopped to provide medical assistance.

Finding the casualty without pulse or spontaneous breathing, he initiated CPR with support from his buddy. The timely life-saving intervention helped revive the individual, restoring breathing and circulation within minutes.

The casualty was subsequently stabilised and evacuated by an Army Ambulance from Banbasa Military Camp to the nearest Primary Health Centre for further medical care.

The incident reflects the #IndianArmy ethos of compassion, preparedness and selfless service—standing ready to save lives, anytime and anywhere.

Following the successful completion of its Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief mission, #OperationAmistad, the Indian Army contingent has commenced its de-induction from Venezuela.

Mobilised from India on 26 June 2026, the composite task force established a fully operational field hospital by 28 June. During the mission, the medical team provided critical medical care to over 1,900 earthquake-affected people, working in close coordination with the local authorities to support relief efforts.

India remains committed to extending timely humanitarian assistance and standing in solidarity with partner nations in times of need.

⭕❌ # FACT CHECK REGARDING LATE NB SUB SARWAN SINGH: SPORTING HERO OF MANILA ASIAN GAMES 1954 #

1. It has come to notice that certain social media posts are circulating regarding Late Nb Sub Sarwan Singh, alleging that despite his sterling performance and Gol Medal win in 110 m hurdles at Manila 1954 Asian Games, he was destitute and denied pensionary benefits by the Indian Army.

False claims are circulating that an Asian Games "Gold-medallist" JCO was left destitute by the Army.

Here are the verified facts:

1. Retired as Nb Sub on 03 Jan 1970, with all retirement benefits.
2. His pension was revised subsequently with every successive Central Pay Commission. Last drawn BASIC pension was Rs 37,000/- per month (dearness relief extra as applicable).
3. His wife had expired in 2015.
4. He drew full pension till his death on 06 May 2021.
5. Only surviving Son is 61 yrs old - not eligible to draw as per rules.

Conclusion : Claims on social media of Army denying him his dues are 100% FALSE and motivated, with questionable intent/ just to garner views and likes.

Request: Please do not share unverified posts that malign the Organisation and hurt Veterans' morale.
