@teacher2teacher My favorite way to start class is telling stories. It allows students a safe space to drop thoughts and things that are on their minds. :)
@teacher2teacher The S of the week will often make the call as to which activity to pursue (when multiple paths meet the same objective) or which type of review game to play.
A7: Moving from a place of FEAR to a place of HOPE requires intentionally embracing a culture of positivity and a growth mindset. Give an abundance of encouragement and love. Replay positive feedback over and over. Turn "failure" into learning. Be grateful. Always. #MasteryChat
A5: Stress indicators: crying, meltdowns, irritability, isolation, disengagement. . .Ss and Ts need patience and energy now more than ever. How? Give grace, practice self care, drink coffee. Repeat. :) #MasteryChat
A4: Great question! Worry and stress show up daily, but it helps to know that we are all in this together. I find calm in friendship and collaboration with colleagues during the day and being with my family in the evenings.#MasteryChat
A3: Safety cues are open lines of communication. Knowing that every precaution is in place; protocol followed. All are cared for and loved. Parents are more involved and students benefit from increased interaction.#MasteryChat
A1: My Ss began the year virtually but will return to hybrid soon. They need to feel safe physically and emotionally so they can engage relationally and academically. I think both teachers and students have a new appreciation for our learning environment. #MasteryChat
@howie_hua @gautiersue Cool!! Never thought about it like this. Thx for sharing. :) The more ways we have as Ts to share, the better the chances of Ss understanding. #iteachmath
