@eugyppius1 more important is that 08/03 is august third in both the US and Japan. It seems more consistent to just put the year first or last when the situation calls and keep MM/DD the same always.
@PalmyrPar A small port city that was in almost constant rivalry and conflict with its massive neighbor that unilaterally pushed Singapore off on its own. People that claim Singapore is successful purely for demography fail to explain why Malaysia didn't do better by comparison.
@RokoMijic@morallawwithin@RafaRuizdeLira There's an obvious difference between factory farmed free-range. Cutting a cow's life short isn't quite as big of a deal if it lives naturally. Torturing a chicken for its short life is not comparable. Those involved should be shunned like medieval executioners.
@theNOBSdentist I have these small mints of sodium bicarbonate and xylitol which I let dissolve in my mouth after every meal/soda. Would that partly counteract the acidity of the soda or does my saliva do so quickly enough that it's wasted effort?
@uncle_deluge It's insane how we still give teachers so much unaccountable power. There needs to be some sort of vetted complaint forum to shame them by name.
@VittorioAmadeus@PalmyrPar Hutus are like 85% of the population. Do you honestly think most of 12 mil. were expelled? Diversity is rarely a problem if the ethnicities are competent (e.g. Switzerland). Killing the protestants is not the reason France was successful. Germany ended up fine with both.
@VittorioAmadeus@PalmyrPar This is fairly ignorant to the context behind Rwanda. The current government is led by the minority victim ethnicity in the Rwandan genocide.
@NegativeN11926 @catpoopburglar@DominicJPino@JonahDispatch A guy that died in 1881 is talking about economists in his day being uneducated parrots. This whole comment chain is about Carlyle, unless you want to pretend you actually meant that twitter account.
@planoize@SightUnseen555@ChrisMartin1961@bienhaseyo I have a good career and I make a lot of money and I obviously did not follow your advice or anyone over the age of 55 to get it. Do you seriously think people should 'be brave' to get a job at a gym? Is that the alternative here?
@planoize@SightUnseen555@ChrisMartin1961@bienhaseyo People behave collectively by responding to actual market conditions. If they aren't behaving the way you think they should, it says more about your awareness of current conditions than about their defective personalities and lack of bravery.
