A 26-year-old Colombian man is dead after an encounter with ICE in Maine. Just days earlier, another father of three was killed in Texas.
We visited Senator Susan Collins’ office after standing with the people of Biddeford, where hundreds came together to demand accountability. While communities are calling for safety and dignity, Collins voted to support tens of billions more in funding for ICE.
Our communities deserve care, not terror. No more deaths. No more expanding ICE. Stand with immigrant communities and demand accountability.
"We're being hunted like dogs."
Houston community members confronted City Council on Tuesday to demand they take action to stop ICE operations in their city.
This follows the killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo at the hands of ICE last week.
The French shipping company CMA CGM suspended shipments to Cuba following U.S. Executive Order 14404, leaving dozens of containers of medical supplies for the Caribbean island stranded in Kingston, Jamaica.
Among the affected shipments is one from the solidarity organization SODePAZ, carrying more than 3.5 million syringes and needles for the healthcare system in Santiago, essential supplies for local hospitals.
CMA CGM stated that, following the May 1 executive order, reservations originating from or destined for Cuba were suspended until further notice, and that operations were being adjusted to comply with current U.S. regulations.
The shipping company offered to return the containers to the port of origin or transfer them to another shipping company, both of which would entail additional costs for shippers and solidarity organizations.
Meanwhile, the German company Hapag-Lloyd also announced the suspension of shipments to Cuba, citing risks of noncompliance stemming from the executive order signed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Executive Order 14404 expands sanctions against Cuba, including foreign individuals and entities linked to strategic sectors of its economy, reinforcing so-called secondary sanctions with extraterritorial reach.

For once, the Senate refused to fast-track a $1.15 trillion Pentagon budget.
After sustained grassroots pressure, senators blocked debate on the 2027 NDAA, demanding the right to vote on amendments to stop funding for an unauthorized war on Iran and challenge deeper U.S.-Israel military integration. People power made this vote possible. Now let’s make sure senators hold the line.
On Tuesday, Cuba's National Electric Power System collapsed for the fifth time this year – and the third time in less than 10 days – plunging it into a nationwide blackout. Ten million residents were left without electricity.
Washington tightened its economic blockade on Cuba in January, targeting oil supplies to the island, which has made blackouts longer and more frequent.
Today, we asked Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) if he was planning to vote to cut off money to Israel.
Instead of answering the question, he deployed the same deflections we've been hearing for years now.
He's received over $2 million from pro-Israel lobby groups.
U.S. sanctions have caused a container with 3.5 million syringes and needles bound for Santiago de Cuba’s health system to be stranded in Jamaica, according to Cuban state media outlet Cubadebate.
What happened to me in the West Bank was an outrage. But it is nothing compared to what Palestinians face every day.
It is time to share their stories that American politics have silenced and ignored. This is our first video about Palestinians we met.

Hundreds rallied on Tuesday in front of an ICE detention facility in Scarborough, Maine, just 20 minutes from where Joan Sebastián Guerrero was killed by federal agents the day before.
Protests have erupted across the country in response to both Guerrrero's killing and the killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston last week.
As punishment for my factual journalism, I was subjected to political harassment by the Trump administration upon my return from Iran.
This Israeli-influenced criminal cartel is clearly threatened by my reporting from Tehran, where I showed the massive crowds of mourners and ferocious public backlash to the assassination of [Ayatollah Ali] Khamenei, exposed US and Israeli war crimes against civilians from the ground, and conducted candid interviews with officials, negotiators and influential Iranians.
The seizure of my devices was a clear act of intimidation aimed at deterring me and others from doing further critical reporting from Iran, which is likely why my interrogators from CPB demanded to know if I would be returning to Tehran to report any time soon.
The often mentioned $3.8 billion the US sends to Israel each year in military funding, as part of its MOU, is only a tiny fraction of the real cost that US taxpayers actually pay to finance and arm Israel’s endless wars of aggression, war crimes, military occupation, apartheid and genocide.
Leading economists, including Harvard war budgeting expert Linda Blimes, estimate the Iran war will exceed $1 trillion – yes, you’ve read it correctly! – in long term costs to US taxpayers.
The US could be funding schools, healthcare, housing and jobs for its people, but has instead chosen to fund Israel’s wars.
$1 trillion for Israel’s wars, austerity and rising costs for US taxpayers – not to mention US complicity in international crimes. Escalate BDS pressure to end all forms of US complicity!
Joan Sebastian Guerrero, 26, was murdered by ICE in Biddeford ME today.
There was no warrant for him. They shot him in the head then threw his body on the ground. His family incl. a 3-year-old were there.
Outraged Mainers marched in Biddeford.
DHS & ICE as usual lied.#AbolishICE

The US regime seeks nothing less than the destruction of Iranian society
Breaking: Major BDS victory as Brazil’s direct oil exports to Israel drop to zero.
Groups such as Rio de Janeiro Oil Workers Union, the Palestinian Institute for Climate Strategy and Disrupt Power have raised questions over whether oil still made its way to Israel, fuelling genocide, apartheid and illegal occupation, potentially through Vitol’s refinery in Sardinia, Italy.
The direct route is closed. The back door isn't.
