The video’s rating is of no material use to you, the viewer. Those metrics were/are intended for the creator, to allow them the opportunity to improve or continue through user feedback.

Obviously, this isn’t how people use the tool.

And there are far more regular people on YouTube than “corporations”. You’re OK with the abuse of billions (with a B) of users to stick it to the handful of “corporations” that don’t even regularly upload to YouTube? Do you hear yourself?

And your equivocations make little sense. I wasn’t aware that Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes were gauges for the content of regular people. Must’ve missed that…
