They love Claire as a character, and speaking for myself, I see Leon and Claire’s independence. But I don’t use that as an excuse to deny their chemistry. So let me ask, is Ada truly independent of Leon during the games? Or is the ‘independence’ excuse no longer available?
Cleons don't actually love Claire as a character, and they prove it over and over again. So after watching the trailer and seeing that development, her independence, and how strong and badass she looks on her own, the first thing they focus on is linking everything back to Leon+
One small detail that I liked about the trailer is when they showed us the letters R E V. They showed it backwards starting with V then E then R as a meaning of "we are going back to the past". From Requiem to Veronica.
I never saw the reason to see Claire and Steve romantic. I only saw it as one-sided and it made sense for Steve's character. Other than that they can't be together.
1) He dies at the end
2) Claire has better chemistry with other characters more than him
cleon is such a peak ship cause the dynamic they already have would literally stay the same if they were to become romantic except now they just kiss sometimes and that’s #the best trope idc
