4/ The loss of creative captions on music videos is devastating too, but I wanted to highlight how this is a very hostile change for disabled audiences, and fucks over anyone who has put effort into making their captions to a professional standard (which is often paid work!).

1/ Genuinely pointless accessibility backslide btw. Using different colours for different speakers is a common method of distinguishing who is speaking, and the ability to move captions to a different place when the lower third is visually important is extremely necessary.

3/ Imagine how much worse these captions would be with custom formatting removed. Now, videos that used colour to indicate the speaker will have no such indication, and creators would have to spend considerable effort going over all their captions to add dialogue tags instead.
