Jimmy Edwards, a retiree of @Padiham_Fire and its longest serving, suddenly lost his son to illness on Sunday, Padiham as a town is heart broken. A go fund me page has been set up to help raise funds for his wife and children, if you can please donate. https://t.co/sbgulkaGMp
@stevejhealey @brianharrisdh8 A major issue here is that there is not one single solution to fix on-call units, what works for one doesn't work for all, not all rds staff are in it for the same reasons.
@FionaDransfield@strickland_mick@stevejhealey Trust me, I'd give you an alerter tomorrow if it helped my unit, I have tried to get the same thing as you mentioned for somebody who is dual contract. But it does create issue with committed staff
@FionaDransfield@strickland_mick@stevejhealey Oh don't get me wrong, I totally agree with Fiona, I'm in favour of her idea as well as any others that will help, I just know from experience that people leave when you don't keep them happy.
@FionaDransfield@strickland_mick@stevejhealey This would be great, but from experience, when you give one member of staff the freedom to come and go as they please, the rest of the crew that have committed 60 plus hours a week stuck within that 5 min area soon become resentful, I wish it was that easy
An update π¨
We can now sadly confirm that the body found in the Forest of Bowland is that of Katie Kenyon.
We found Katie on Friday following extensive searches and she has now been formally identified as the missing Padiham mum, 33.
Banner in place in respect for Mr Bob Clark.
Thank you to Padiham town council and members of Padiham fire brigade for getting it up there. RIP Bobby.

Watch Manager Alan ashworth's final drill session with @Padiham_Fire last night, you will be missed boss, but knowing you, you'll be on the next recruit course
@steptfs @Padiham_Fire It's the moorland fires, the smoke travels over a large area, other fire engines have been sent to different areas due to the smoke from these fires
Being a presence in my community is massive passion of mine but I have to agree with this at this time, we need to set an example to the public, now is not the time for unnecessary twitter opportunities, let's stick to our doorsteps when doing this so that the public do too.
πππ@Padiham_Fire have been fantastic with Tia over the years. They organised major fundraising events, bought gifts, gave her awards, & finally the perfect send off with the fire engine leading the funeral procession and the Fire Fighters guard of honour in Church. ππ π
