@SellingRips The crazy feature is you can get out of the Apple ecosystem. It's so annoying how poor the interface on Apple products is to non-Apple products.
@aRobotNamedSnax Yeah, so effectively no change for anyone living in Texas right now. Would just make it more difficult for them to add a capital gains tax in the future on a state level.

Texas indeed has no state capital gains tax, as it lacks a state income tax. Governor Abbott's resolution is about a proposed constitutional amendment to ban any future state-level capital gains taxes, set for a vote in November 2025. It aims to keep Texas tax-friendly for investors, amid concerns over potential state tax changes inspired by other states or federal discussions on unrealized gains.
However, this amendment can't stop federal capital gains taxes, which still apply to Texans at rates of 0%, 15%, or 20% based on income. Some might see the amendment as redundant since Texas already bans state income taxes, but others view it as a safeguard. @thelaptoplegend Nice, good job. It's hard to trade like that and stay even keeled in my experience. Often find myself freezing up on the re-entries after a few cuts when I try to trade like that.
@RickyAnalog Thanks. Wonder if that 2min timer is exclusive to the futures contract (seems so since there's a separate section for S&P in that link).
My biggest concern today was a market wide halt for all stocks, which seems to be linked to SPX based off of that description.
For anyone else confused as to why the 7% circuit didn't trigger on SPY, it's because it's based off of SPX.
SPY hit 7% down, but SPX (the actual index) didn't
SPX=$5456.89*0.93 = $5074.91 (LOD = $5115.27)
SPY=$548.62*0.93 = $510.22 (LOD = $509.32)
@RickyAnalog Interesting, got a source anywhere on that? Only exception I can find is that the 7% and 13% circuit breakers aren't active after 3:25pm (20% still is).
Seems to kind of defeat the purpose of it if there's a time limit as they created it to limit the effect of panic.
@daytradingzoo They were all offered 7-8 months of pay/benefits to resign, which was a super generous offer.
They're not all evil/corrupt by any means, but the federal programs can't just become infinitely more bloated over time as we drown ourselves deeper in debt.
