@BrayForJade I've been wondering this for quite some time now because I've been seeing reports on this for a FEW YEARS now. I'm shocked it's taken this long to address. But I think it might be that some of the hoteliers that are buying up the beaches are the ones funding politicans 🤷🏾‍♂️

@NestaJA I don't know about any "well funded 'false' campaign" but reports on this issue date bank a FEW YEARS now (https://t.co/tGxsRzLF2R) and the government has made no moves apart from the proposed Beach Access and Management Policy which has gone NOWHERE

@NestaJA @bbem_ja has been on the front lines for years arguing for our beach access rights. I believe the argument arose from their efforts. I don't know why the government has been so slow and silent in ensuring the rights of everyday Jamaicans

Main roads are dealt with by central government/NWA, local roads dealt with by Parish Councils/Municipal Corporations. This is why the current government has been pushing for the One Road Authority so it's more streamlined/centralized

@Meyeownboss @Negrilgrown One could argue that the reward is available in the free/having discounted training tracks (HEART) to be certified to do the work needed. Foreign nationals would come in already trained. But I agree in valuing those already here doing a good job accordingly

@iamrachel93_ In all fairness, he was not asked any questions in Parliament. In Parliament, the questions were directed to Minister Chang during the question and answer portion subsequent to a statement by the Minister.

@japphic @TheDevMac876 @vaewest A slower paced lifestyle. Lower stress environment. Nature access (beaches, mountains, rivers). Fresh locally sourced foods. Jamaica has a lot to offer, it's just for our people to really see and know and seek to benefit before foreign transplants do but that is already happening

@TLeslie__ @BigBattyVulpix As I understand it, the jobs and opportunities are there (and will increase with NaRRA) but we didn't have enough skilled workers to build. That's why government has been pushing HEART

@BigBattyVulpix From my understanding, that's the issue. Homes are being built but not at the rate necessary because we lack the skilled workers needed to build at a rapid pace
