From my personal board of directors. Im gonna keep this til I’m 100. You should know that I have no idea where my Med school diploma is. But this is going on the wall...with a framed N95.
The @ACPinternists policy paper @AnnalsofIM that "triggered" @NRA is outstanding: https://t.co/7FYcCsU00N by @BobDohertyACP @sue_bornstein Every word is rational, unlike our country w/ >400 million guns for 325 M people; in 2018: 308 mass shootings, >12,600 gun-related deaths #OA
ACP urges the withdrawal of new Presidential Proclamation imposing a 90 day prohibition on granting asylum to refugees who don’t cross the southern U.S. border at an official point of entry. https://t.co/EwEPEzRKE2
@meganranney@NRA@ResearchAffirm Perhaps the NRA wants to help the doctors caring for those injured by guns in LA or for those suffering the trauma of witnessing the carnage or losing loved ones? Firearm injury has become a public health problem and public health is very much in doctors’ lane.
@NRA Doctors are writing about the epidemiology of gun violence, which is exactly "in their lane." It's not self importance, it's professional expertise. Thank goodness they're sharing their knowledge with us. #CureViolence
@NRA NRA #hypocrites tell doctors to "stay in their lane," while NRA lobbied Congress to force the CDC to avoid research on gun violence as a public health problem. NRA swerved out of its lane, over the center divider and into a different ZIP code to tell doctors how to do their jobs.
I know this isn’t exactly man-bites-dog news, but my god how tone deaf can the NRA be? Stay in your lane?? Maybe they don’t know what the phrase means.
@NRA Passing laws to stop kids from not getting shot by unsecured guns, reducing the lethality of mass shootings, keeping guns from domestic violence offenders who will use them to kill their intended victims—oh yes, these are all in doctor’s lanes. Like any other public health threat
@Southwest_Texan @NRA Really Hughes? An NRA-backed Florida law passed in 2011 that prohibited doctors from discussing safe firearm practices with patients. It was subsequently struck down by the courts in 2017. I am a patient advocate. The NRA is not.
Y’all. Have you ever had role models that make you smile so hard and care so much that your face and heart just ache with inspiration and gratitude?
