Meet the Committee

With an updated Committee elected in at our AGM back in November, we have asked each Committee Member to answer a few questions about their connection to the club, views on the club and hopes for the season etc.

There is only one place to start and that is with our new Chairperson Andrew Magrath.

Besides being Chair, Andrew also plays a pivotal role in giving us one of the best on field playing facilities for miles around as well as assisting with the coaching of our Nighthawks team. Andrew also finds time to still turn out on a Saturday for our second team.

How long have you been at Norley Hall?

My first venture into cricket in the famous Green and Gold was in the under 13s when I was 11 some 34 years ago. I remember it fondly, an away game at Westleigh on a Tuesday evening, 6pm start, already going dark and spitting for the entire game. I got soaked to the bone and got a duck - a fantastic welcome to cricket 🤣. Since then I've played u15s and been captain of both first and second teams for many years.

Favourite thing about the club?

The thing I truly treasure about this club is how welcoming we are. We have the most truly special membership. Many people have said on visiting the club that they can't believe they hadn't been before and they have got the bug and just can't stay away ever since.

Goals for 2026?

Pretty simple really - to continue the great work that we've already started on all fronts on and off the field. We are going from strength to strength, but the main priority for me personally is the ladies and junior section development. This club has so much potential and with the committee we have , I can only see an even brighter future for this fantastic club.

Favourite moment?

It has to be lifting the league winners trophy as first team captain in 2018. Surrounded by friends and family. It was a magical season that will live with me forever.
