The Peace Museum has moved to Salts Mill, Saltaire, which gives a much larger space than before. It is getting far more visitors and is now accessible. Free but the move was costly and donations - as well as visitors - are very welcome https://t.co/rW9U5GMMFm
@IsabelOakeshott@Nigel_Farage Is it right to seethe when long-standing rules are enforced? I don't think the Green Party leaders were invited to lay a wreath either. Should they also be seething on Remembrance Sunday? Seething sounds rather warlike.
As mayor I laid a wreath today at the war memorial in Skipton on behalf of the people of Skipton. On the memorial a soldier bends a sword over his knee. Isaiah 2:4 '...nation shall not raise up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.'
Skipton Civic Society talk on 'North Yorkshire Council Climate Change Strategy' by Fiona Protheroe is 7:30pm on Wednesday 6th November in Skipton Town Hall Education Room, access at rear of the Town Hall. £5 for non-members, towards hire of hall. £3 for members.
14,100 is just the children being directly killed. Not those dying from lack of medical treatment or shortages of food and clean water. Slaughter of the innocent.
We're absolutely horrified that at least 50 children have reportedly been killed in an Israeli attack on homes in northern Gaza over the weekend.
At least 14,100 children have been killed in Gaza so far. How many children killed is too many before our leaders say 'enough is enough'?
The UK government remains complicit, refusing to suspend all arms sales - despite the clear risk of violations of International humanitarian law.
"If the international community does not intervene soon, an entire generation of children in Gaza will be erased, along with their futures. All states have a legal obligation to prevent the crime of genocide" - Jeremy Stoner, Middle East Regional Director for Save the Children.
We are continuing to urge the UK government to use its power and influence to secure an immediate, definitive ceasefire, and suspend all arms sales to the Government of Israel.
Councillor 'pleased' to see 20mph signs going up in Ulverston. And #20splenty is pleased to see 20mph limits being set across Westmorland and Furness Council.
Green Party validated candidate Jill Woollacott for the Skipton Town Council byelection after resignation of a Conservative councillor. Put out 2,000 leaflets in North Ward over the weekend. No Conservative candidate. Green, Labour and LibDem.
Great @guardian article about first 100 days of Green MP @AdrianRamsay. Standing up for constituents & securing proper funding & support for both restoring nature & restoring health services are his overriding objectives 👏 https://t.co/j4TQORmzbm
Sad to see that Tupperware has gone bust. I still use some of mine and its nearly 60 years old, from the days when my mum was a 'dealer' and ran Tupperware parties. Making it so durable probably reduced their sales.
My first karaoke attempt yesterday, to launch the karaoke tent at the Skipton Snapshot Festival. I was going to do both Soley Soley and Green Green Grass of Home - the only two songs where I know all the words - but after the latter others arrived for a try so I escaped.
