@doctorrah (2) abdominal seroma, excision which resulted in an abdominal abscess (500ml drained 😱), the mental load of processing the accident, PTSD, insurance paper work etc etc. just saying, if you have an infection you aren't fit for work. And always be kind to yourself on return❤️

@doctorrah (1) From experience. As hard as it is, don't go back too quickly!!! I went back to work 6 weeks after a head on collision (in a car) at a combined speed of 110MPH. In retrospect I hadn't processed the trauma that comes with that (plus the follow up knee arthroscopies,)

@JamesTitcombe At the trust I work in we offer all women attending MAC in early labour/having an induction a bedside scan to confirm the presentation. They are not fool proof though, I have cared for women with unstable lies. Baby can be cephalic one minute, then transverse/breech later...

The number of people I care for that birth physiologically is fleetingly rare, like one a quarter (and I'm a HB midwife) I had an emergency section with twins (planned elective) that was normal to me

But, we also need to consider what midwifery is... midwives specialise in "physiology" it's sometimes shortened to normality as most birthing people don't recognise that term. What would you call it?

@ACHelpTeam Good to hear it has been passed on. Honestly, just cover the basics! I'm a midwife now but was a former financial services product manager and CAP/HPI product manager. I would NEVER ask patients or customers to send personal data by email spreadsheet 😳. Armature hour!

Still absolutely livid about this!As a previous financial service product manager and now an NHS midwife, HOW is it ok to be so lax with personal data!!!!!!!! If I shared someone's name, address, DOB, passport details, NI number AND bank statements I would be sacked, rightly so

@Fi_Gibb @hallmum5 @ucas_online @MidwivesRCM Sadly I'm not surprised. I started as a 2017 cohort with SFE loan, tuition fees and NO support towards childcare. The only way we made it work was for me to do care home bank shifts to access 30 hours childcare for our smalls. If I'd had the bursary would have had childcare paid

@Fi_Gibb @hallmum5 @ucas_online @MidwivesRCM My husband also took 6 months paternity care at the start of my course as our youngest was only 9 weeks old at the time and finding out we had no funding towards childcare was a massive shock (as was only confirmed when I enrolled and got my SFE statement).
