Finally got round to watching the Bruce Springsteen movie. I loved the book it was based on so much and all I could think was what a fantastic documentary it would have made. The attempts to dramatise it left me completely flat.
@gibsona07 This ties in with me being down there anyway to see the Wallflowers. Would be ridiculously convenient if a London date magically appeared in the 21st
Excellent news about Bob Dylan European tour. Now praying for the stars to align with some November London dates the same weekend I'm down to see the Wallflowers. 🙏🙏🙏
2 weeks ago I lit the sitting-room fire; since then, a heatwave every day: almost 40 degrees by 3pm. But ah, this is my view when I'm having lunch on the terrace. Our SW France house is for sale, though; if, like me, you work from home, you could buy it...

Just months before Hunter S. Thompson committed suicide, he instructed his wife, Anita, to ship his red IBM Selectric II portable typewriter to Bob Dylan.
She balked: It was too precious to send away willy-nilly. But when Hunter died, she reconsidered.
“He still has the harmonica you gave him that day in his drawer,” Anita wrote to Dylan. “In return, he wanted you to have his red Ibm Selectric II typewriter. He started a letter to accompany it on a few occasions, but got distracted by various deadlines, and didn’t want to send you a distracted letter. So anyway, here it is, and I am sorry the letter has to be from me, but it is important to him that you have the typewriter and use it for Chronicles. (I guess it would be Chronicles II now, right?)”
Jack Nicholson & Meryl Streep couldn’t be better together in Heartburn. Streep is back in theaters in a matter of hours- I said hours! Expect more Streep content from me this week, especially her comedic roles. Streep’s comedic timing is her secret weapon. I love her & this film.
Always wondered if we will ever get a Neil Young biopic. There's noone I can imagine playing him. And it's very hard to imagine it being done well. But I'd love to see it.
