📚✨ The 2026 Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize is now open for submissions!

Sponsored by @WMEBooksUK, the Prize continues its mission to discover and support unpublished, talented women and non-binary writers, helping new voices in fiction to be heard.

This year’s stellar panel of judges includes Vogue Williams, Ella Lee, Harriet Bourton, Dr Clare Walker Gore and Dr Isobel Maddison. 🌟

Writers are invited to submit:
The opening 10 pages of their novel
A one-paragraph pitch
A one-page synopsis

The winner receives £1,500 and valuable industry recognition.

@clairhumphries wins the 2025 Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize with her debut novel, Mrs Peacock's Pavlova. ✨

The judges were captivated by its delicate treatment of theme and excellent portrayal of character. Head judge, Kiran Millwood Hargrave, highlighted the novel's "sustained voices of the dual POV," describing it as "an impressive feat, tenderly and authentically crafted." We're so excited to read this! 🤩📚
