@leolenzetti @eyeballic_ Yeah it's probably part of it! Though there has not until just recently been unionization in animation in the US afaik. Also, Canada is so close and we are a primarily English speaking place. Similar time zones too, and our countries have historically been on good terms

@jordan_colon238 @eyeballic_ Yes that's right, I forgot to mention. We call it "cancon" and I personally find the crumminess of it kind of charming lol there's a lot of television and film here that never sees the light of day anywhere else. I think more governments should do this

@eyeballic_ That being said like another person commented there is also a lot of astoundingly good work coming out of here, a lot of historically important work. Check out the NFB when you get the chance, I promise there's more good Canadian animation than bad!

@eyeballic_ Idk if you're looking for actual answers but-- in Canada, historically we have both lower budget and tend to be used as outsourced labour for the US. Idk about why so much slop is from that specific 2000s era tho it is interesting:P
