The @SimCoin_xyz community is going strong, @ChadSimCoin is hard at work, liquidity is very solid and growing, the meme is evergreen, isn't an animal coin, has a large global following outside of crypto, gives meaning, a favourite of @elon and only 100k mc #bullish_sim ๐โ
@itskkoma@ZestProtocol@StackingDao give us a bloody update for god sake, people are putting the dollars towards supporting you the least you can do is keep them informed.
@StackingDao@Stacks Is it time to give a bit more info on what your points program is going to get us? Is there going to be an airdrop? How far away is it? It's been a long time without much said.
@CallMeHunch Makes sense to me that someone as invested as you getting to the point of giving up is a bullish sign, most people would have had weaker hands than you.
@CallMeHunch Have a look at the numbers on defi lama they look strong to me, also $STX has been trending on KuCoin the last 12 hours or so along with pretty much just Ai agent plays.
Maybe we are getting to a sentiment tipping point, there has been a lot of FUD and bearish talk recently.
Just a few points, there are much more but this would be a good start:
Comms:
- Replace @Stacks intern with someone who is in / and understands the whole community, and use that account to amplify new and existing projects launching on stacks and interact with such - putting more eyes on the front-end, rather than just the backend.
Some examples: @one_bns via @bns_community , @stxcity , @VelarBTC etc.
That account has to interact with the community - a good example of how that's done (without it being overdone) you can see with @LeatherBTC and @xverse and @StackingDao - Even just a simple like by the @Stacks account or @muneeb can be motivation - yeah, we're that desperate.
- Keep an information loop with people who are actively building on stacks, listen to their needs, to their issues and celebrate with them their progress. Key people STX higher ups should communicate at least once a week are @jackbinswitch , @reubs_btc , @CryptoLandy , @khoa_work , @Snazzy_888 , @ImBanksia , @instoppabile , @visionsbtc , @lordrozar and at least 2 dozen more. Those builders give stacks a face.
Technical:
- Solve the liquidity issue of stables on STX. Our ecosystem doesn't need 5 different stable coins with under .5M liquidity - pick one, incentivize developers and users to stick to it.
- Integrate BNS v2 into Hiro explorer and push Xverse to do the same (wallet). It's a shame that Stacks has been completely uninterested in one of the best potential cross-chain onboarding projects that we already have - for the last years.
Of course there are other issues like having in general more liquidity, having consistent tx times etc., but those are issues that are discussed widely.
There is a very big disconnect between developers and the community on Stacks. I hope this gets resolved in 2025, my suggestion would be to read the room.
Something very easy to do would be to change the @Stacks intern to someone who knows how to interact with the community. @LeatherBTC and @xverse have done a great job in that regard.
I am bullish on Stacks, but there needs to be some serious change in marketing, communications and community interaction or people will move over to something new and shiny.
As for the 1,000 BTC inflow, most stacks devs or key people see the time it took as something negative - expected a much faster turnaround to reach the cap.
Just my two cents as someone who builds in this ecosystem for years.
a recap of 2024 for stacks:
- last dec, stacks ran on bitcoin speed with 10-40 min block times. now, nakamoto is live with blocks in seconds.
- stacks had itโs own security budget (much smaller than bitcoin). now, stacks security upgraded to 100% of bitcoin hashpower, for tx ordering and reorgs.
- last dec, there were various mining inefficiencies and potential attack vectors. now, mining inefficiencies are gone resulting in 40% or so increase in BTC rewards and potential attack vectors for mining are neutralized.
- there was no easy and secure way to bring BTC to stacks just some smaller bridges live. sBTC is now live (currently with deposits only), and quickly reached the initial 1,000 BTC cap.
- stacks had a handful of decentralized core devs. now, bitcoin L2 labs with @AdrianoDiLuzio as lead is a new well-capitalized core dev entity that is rapidly hiring and increasing eng bandwidth and speed of shipping.
- bitcoin L2s was a poorly understood category in the industry. now, with stacks leading and help from other projects bitcoin L2s as a category is on the radar of all major players, devs, investors etc.
- stacks emerged as the #7 fastest growing dev ecosystem (electric capital report).
- stacks asia foundation with fresh new capital and dedicated focus on asia launched, expanding eco to middle east, south asia, and doubling down on korea, singapore, hong kong, and others.
there were so many other wins: new apps and startups launching, amazingly talented people joining various entities in the ecosystem, various funding rounds, stacks and bitcoin L2 events across the globe etc.
iโm grateful to be a part of this organic and mission-driven ecosystem. we are here to build the best bitcoin L2. our goal is to on-board a billion people to bitcoin and create an onchain BTC economy. last year we upgraded the foundations for our mission. 2025 is going to be the year of taking stacks to millions of new people and making a lot of BTC productive onchain.
cheers to a great 2025.
the bitcoins must flow ๐ง
