Had the pleasure of meeting Gianluca Vialli when he visited The Dukes on a golf day out. He got out the buggy and came across and shook my hand as Starter for the day. A lovely man to meet, sad he is now no longer with us.

@NCG_com Definitely not. To concede a putt of less than 6 inches saves time and the embarrassment of asking the player to putt. Only the Americans don't seem to understand the concession rule. I've seen them in the Ryder Cup asking players to putt out, when they are only a few inches away

SPOTY was its usual rubbish. Winner won a European event whilst Eve Muirheads team won a world Olympic gold and were third. Reminds me of time English women's rugby team were team of the year When Europe golf team had won Ryder Cup. Don't watch anymore.

Sadness in Melrose and the whole rugby world at the funeral service of Doddy today. He has set in motion a crusade which will never end until we find a cure for this awful disease.

#StrictlyComeDancing2022 As usual an absolute fix on who was leaving tonight. It was all set up when Will was given a low score on his first dance and then he was in the bottom two. Then even though he had the better final dance he was voted out by Shirley. FIX !!!

So much contention about Japan's 2nd goal. Without a Hawkeye camera it is impossible to call. Also there is a timelag to process the analog picture the camera sees to a digital format then transmit the info to the VAR monitor. In that moment the ball could be out then back in.

You should stop doing the results show straight after the dancing.That means lots of people know the result BEFORE the actual results show on Sunday. Better to have 60-70% of the dances on the Saturday then the remainder and the results show on the Sunday !!

@AscensionMPA Wife and I have fond memories of watching the turtles struggling up the beach to lay their eggs and getting back into the sea. It is one of those things you you don't forget even back in 1971 when we were on the Island.

Well done the Scottish ladies on their 1-0 win, maybe a bit lucky as Austria could have been two goals up in the second half,but we kept getting stuck in, Harrison made a big difference when she came on and scored the winner !!!

I can recall being asked/ordered to present a bouquet to the Queen on her visit to Raf Odiham on the Coronation Air Review on 15 July 1953 as I was the youngest member of the Raf at 15 years and 7 months old. A day not to forget.

@OldCourseHotel @dukesgolf Sorry to hear on the passing of Herb Koehler. He did more in his years as Chairman than all the previous holders put together. His redesign at the Dukes and great improvements in the hotel will always be remembered.
