@JaneFallon@musicalcrochet I’ve been waiting for what seems like AGES to see if Eric’s trousers had arrived, I’ve been checking daily (or maybe several times a day!), they’re brilliant! Lucky Eric!
@LidlGB@ceejae25@LidlGB i watched a staff member moving doughnuts from the cardboard tray on the tracks at the back to the customer ‘shelves’ with bare hands the other day in our Stroud store. Surely they shouldn’t be handing them with bare hands
@cix_stormrage@Ria1984 That's ok if they are continually 'unpicked' so that the children actually know what each means. I've been at schools who just keep saying the three words but it's clear the children don't really understand what each means and needs it reinforced LOTS in KS1/EYFS
@MastheadArt @Concraigsmith@sainsburys@Tesco@AldiUK@waitrose Co op is often the same though I'm not sure if they still sell plants. A couple of years ago I mentioned to them and they said they didn't have the staff to do it. Waitrose gets 10/10 though!
@HVHadfield@thismorning I went back to work full time as a teacher when my daughter was 6 months-lone parent working 5 days a week nursery and childminder until started school.Perhaps parents need a book on how to parent-or dr to regularly link to a parenting website if they can't think for themselves
@HVHadfield@thismorning maybe but surely it's common sense?Nappies are so cheap these days that there's no concern about cost-less than 10p a nappy @ Aldi -increased costs might encourage parents.I didn't see health visitor other than when discharged by midwife probably saw twice.
@HVHadfield@thismorning but parents can start & child care providers support https://t.co/JN5TbX3Fgc talks about starting very young, parents can do this when caring for their child at home. The site talks about 'teaching' child to use toilet-parents need to do their bit & teach their child-not schools
@HVHadfield@thismorning lots of it is lazy parents though often because they don't want the hassle of having to take changes of clothes, find public toilets etc with a 'training' child. The idea of 'waiting until they're ready' is another thing that's mentioned-then it's too late. From ERIC website-
@HVHadfield@thismorning As a lone parent working 5 days a week I still managed to toilet train my child at 2.5yrs.Took some holiday time to start the process and my child care providers continued it.People use excuse that child isn’t ready when they aren’t trained instantly
@HVHadfield@thismorning Presumably these children are in nurseries but not 24/7.Nurseries will work WITH parents to potty train child but parents still have to do their bit when the child is with them
@etaknipsa@DrHoenderkamp IF there are more than 1 adults in class & school allow only 1 to change, other children suffer because 1 adult having to change nappies, ratio of adults to children increase
@etaknipsa@DrHoenderkamp children still get respect & care. BUT what about other ones whose care & education suffer because of parents who haven't bothered to toilet train their child? What about other children while the 1 is being changed? What about their care & education while adults change nappies?
@etaknipsa@DrHoenderkamp it's something parents NEED to do with their children. No one minds supporting child if occasional accidents-child then given things to change themselves. What they do mind is time taken away from teaching because parents haven't toilet trained their child
@etaknipsa@DrHoenderkamp I wouldn't want to be faced with an allegation from a child that could ruin my career due to 1-1 intimate care .Children in school in nappies have to have intimate care plan, changing children takes adults away from the other children. Go to some schools and see the issues
@etaknipsa@DrHoenderkamp SEN schools have more staff and personal care will be part of their job. Teachers are unlikely to be involved in this task. Also, this is about children in general being toilet trained by 4 not about those with specific disabilities that prevent/delay training
@etaknipsa@DrHoenderkamp it's not because teachers think it's beneath them-though obviously they are there to be teachers and toilet training is the job of the parents.2 adults to protect eveyone-child and teacher.
