Fantastic news and many thanks @CathalCroweTD@mmcgrathtd @HHumphreysFG for getting this to this stage. After 13 years of waiting this is such a welcome development. Many thanks to all involved including @SIPTU@forsa_union_ie and #cesupervisors
To say we are disappointed with this offer is an understatement. Palpable anger amongst #cesupervisors at this "offer" which excludes a large amount of Supervisors who have fought for and deserve a pension @CathalCroweTD@timmydooley @MlMcNamaraTD @joecareytd @WynneTd @FineGael
Yesterday's announcement is certainly welcome. This campaign could be a study in perseverance. But as a wise man once said 'the devil will be in the detail...'
Our Union representatives will have pass judgement on it and see if it fulfills the expectations from the 2008 LCR.
Perseverance pays off. And so does being a member of a trade union.
We've seen it with #SupportOurSecretaries, and now hopefully this #UnfinishedBusiness will finally be taken care of. Justice is so long overdue for CE supervisors.
As always, the devil will be in the detail.
Outstanding turnout at cross-party Dáil AV room briefing on issue of CE supervisors pensions - Largest I've seen at this type of session. Thanks to @daracalleary and @mary_butler_ for hosting. Hopefully now our supervisors will finally get the recognition and action they deserve
CE schemes are an intrinsic part of Irish communities. They are very successful in terms of moving people from unemployment into paid jobs. CE supervisors are incredibly important catalysts for supporting the unemployed - @mary_butler_
.@clareCEnetwork just received confirmation from Min. Michael McGrath that a proposal has been agreed for CE supervisor & assistant supervisors with Min. Humphries regarding pensions.
