i’m guessing you’ve heard of psychological safety - the conditions that make it safe to speak up….but what about “Neurological Safety™” - conditions that invite you to “keep calm and carry on”.
as a neurodivergent person who increasingly experiences overwhelmingly toxic environments, i think it’s important to acknowledge the needs of our nervous systems and three critical ingredients to any neurologically safe space.
3. Prepare for pushback
Imagine the arguments you might face and get curious to learn more. There may be another path to achieving outcomes that has not been considered.
I’ve had some successes - a year leave to travel the world, and failures - being denied the #flexibility to #workfromhome part-time in 2007.
Here are 3 tips to help #negotiating.
2. Be positivie
Articulate the benefits of your solution - for your leader and the company, not just yourself. If you’re going to be more comfortable, you’ll perform better. Focus on those benefits to sell your solution.
