@wilkojohnson Sad news. He was interviewed in 2013 and talked about the odd intensity and ecstasy of feeling alive in spite of a terminal illness. I shared this with my late Mum who had also just been diagnosed. She said, 'I love that, he's right, I'll go with that'. He helped us❤️
51 years ago today, Salvador Allende, the democratically elected president of Chile, was overthrown in a bloody US/UK backed coup.
What followed were years of repression and death.
This is the story of the other 9/11
It’s comical isn’t it? You have Rishi apologising for leaving France early and bleating on about how he expressed his gratitude to War veterans…. He is always so embarrassingly eager to plant his British flag in the soil and claim allegiance to it, presumably to impress the overwhelmingly nationalistic Tory membership… What he forgets is that when given the opportunity, that same membership voted for a blinkered woman, outlasted by a lettuce, over him.
The Tory membership took a huge right turn years ago and they have never embraced the idea of being led by a man whose very skin is emblematic of his immigrant heritage. Many of those Tory members are ex UKIP and have more loyalty to overt scumbags like Farage than their own unelected leader…
Then there’s Keir… painfully slow and desperate to jump on right-wing bandwagons so defunct that no one can remember whose stupid idea it was to ever ride in one. He left his integrity at the door the moment he entered the corridors of power.
Watching these two debate was like watching a rewrite of Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot”, where the only two men on stage talk in circles oblivious to the futility of their hollow and clichéd words. Like the play, I was just trying to figure out whose trousers would fall down first…
Why are these two sheep allowing the national agenda to be set by those who most of us would cross the road to avoid?
Get off immigration and start talking about real issues…
Farage is not your puppet master.
He is an indelible stain on the character of this country.
Israel's banning of Al Jazeera is one aspect of its War On Truth. It aims at preventing Israelis from knowing that what goes on in Gaza, in their name, which is no self defence but an all out massacre. An industrial strength pogrom. Genocide. The West's determination to aid & abet Israel is a clear and present danger to freedoms and rights in our own communities. We need to rise up to defend them. In israel, in our countries, everywhere!
@RishiSunak You are a moral vacuum, a money grabbing glove puppet for your Zionist masters. Who are you and why are you our PM?? You should be in The Hague. 🤮
So where is the mainstream U.K. political leader who - thinks Brekshit was a farce, hates children being murdered in their thousands, wants an inclusive, fair society for all, will call out corruption and nepotism in their own party or government, will appoint an ombudsman to fact check MSM reporting and political discourse, will rebuild our NHS and cut waiting times for ops and appointments, will tackle climate change with renewable energy policies, will clean up our waters, will cut processing time for asylum seekers, will open up LEGAL routes and stamp on racism, will bring back grants for higher education, will consider legislation to regulate the AI revolution, will bring down inflation and redistribute wealth through fair taxation and helping productivity, will implement a welfare system that eliminates the need for food banks, will take care of the vulnerable, will rebuild trade relations with Europe and isn’t a hypocritical arsehole.
Anyone? 🤷🏾♂️
I watched The Zone of Interest last night—Jonathan Glazer’s Holocaust movie that triggered the Oscar speech that turned Zionists even more antisemitic.
And it’s very easy to see why Glazer would say what he did, when you watch the film and see how Nazis normalised genocide to such a degree: partying near a concentration camp (sound familiar?), celebrating as they discuss new methods of disposing of bodies (bulldozers in Gaza?), and patting each other on the back for ‘good performance’ at ‘work’ (remember the praise Israeli MPs gave their soldiers for the flour massacre?)
This is the banality of evil: how normalised these crimes became, like washing the dishes or taking out the trash.
And, what is key, is that this is the consequence of the exact same kind of dehumanisation that Israel has inflicted upon the Palestinians for *decades*.
And it’s terrifying to witness it over the length of a film, to see so many people treat a group as their lives being ‘worthless’ and laughing over taking their possessions while celebrating their own lives (sound familiar also?).
To see this film, at this point in time, while Zionists carry out so many of the same acts—it is impossible to not draw parallels.
And for a Jewish director to make such a film, to commemorate those killed and remind the world how easily people become monsters, only to see his Jewishness weaponised to do just that at the very same time, must have been particularly horrifying.
There is nothing more antisemitic than Zionism, and watching this film, alongside the clips coming out of Gaza from Israelis themselves, paired with the director’s speech and the Zionist reaction, is a remarkable thesis on just how antisemitic and Nazi-esque Zionism is.
