Dan Hurley shares a blunt reminder about what it takes to be great.
"If you can't sit through an hour and 15 minute video session...get out of this industry because this is only for the most competitive people."
The film room isn't glamorous. It's tedious, repetitive, and easy to zone out, but that's exactly why it separates.
The ones who consistently work even when it's boring are the same ones who execute when it matters.
Greatness isn't for the interested - it's for the ones who embrace the boredom of consistency.

Recruiting isn’t a popularity contest. It’s a matching process.
The goal isn’t to be wanted by everyone. It’s to be wanted by the right program, at the right time, for the right reasons.

PLAYERS: Be so positive, encouraging, and friendly that even the teammates that tend to complain will want to be around you. Be the example on your team. Enthusiasm can be contagious.
Had a great conversation with college coaches this weekend during the PGH MI College Tour and the consensus is what you do in the box score doesn't matter when it comes to being recruited. Make the RIGHT plays and decisions. That gets you noticed. Forcing the issue does not. It's not about taking 30 shots to score double-digits. Be the best facilitator, defender, rebounder, communicator, make winning plays, and make your shots count, however many that is. You will stand out in a good way to college coaches and scouts if you do that. When the shot volume isn't there, can you still separate yourself? Need to have a multidimensional game.

A lot of young hoopers that are trying to be cool should listen to this message
A loyal assistant coach is one of the most valuable things in a program.
They keep the locker room steady.
They reinforce standards.
They make the head coach better.
Behind every strong program…
there’s usually a strong coaching staff.
"It’s because of Christ that I’ve found freedom in things like basketball. My faith is No. 1. That’s what’s most important. ... Because of Jesus, I’m set free from performance and expectation and failures.”
