We aim to pass new legislation to honor Sonya Massey, which would address gaps in the SAFE-T Act so we can catch warning signs — regarding officers — before they become homicides. This proposed legislation will:

— Include a national database for officers with prior misconduct.
— request a "waiting period" for officers changing departments to ensure that a full background check has been completed.
