Labour keeps betraying Wales!
That’s the end of the winter transfer window, and clearly lessons haven’t been learned from under the previous regime at Swansea City.
The hierarchy at this football club knew how important this transfer window was to our season, and this is what we were dealt with…
We lost our club captain, and we could only manage two loans. Hannes Delcroix hadn’t played all season, Lewis O’Brien is a solid addition, but we needed a minimum of 4/5 players in different areas, and that was without losing any key players, never mind your club captain. Ten days we had to replace Matt Grimes, and we didn’t…
Our only permanent transfer, Melker Widell, who looks to have a bit about him in all fairness, but that’s no guarantee it works out, has gone back on loan out to Denmark and we won’t see him until the summer. (If we are still in the Championship.)
This is a transfer window that apparently had plenty of planning and preparation going in to it, months of preparation actually. Fair to say that looks to be a load of bollocks. No contingency plan.
It’s also hard not to be fearful of the summer after this window. We now have a key player, Harry Darling, who’s out of contract as it stands, and three players in on loan who will be returning to their parent clubs at the end of the season.
Also, players like Kyle Naughton, Cyrus Christie are out of contract, and players like Nathan Tjoe-A-On & Jay Fulton could move when this season has finished. Who knows what Joe Allen may end up doing too with his contract expiring.
Granted, Nathan Tjoe-A-On does not play much, and Kyle Naughton & Cyrus Christie’s best days are gone, but we are supposed to trust these people that are in charge to add depth, which we will need in a number of areas, and quality to improve the squad in yet another rebuild? Also, what league will we be in for that rebuild? Relegation is a worry now.
Ambition is critical? There’s none of that here, and hasn’t been for nearly a decade, absolutely none of it. Those days are gone. It’s another failed window, and it’s becoming a huge theme at Swansea City.
This fans forum as promised by Andy Coleman is desperately needed, and hopefully he can explain why this transfer window was a disaster. I look forward to the excuses already…
Andy Coleman is someone that is clearly completely out of his depth. Let’s remember though, his boots are firmly on the ground…
Year after year, some of us get ourselves hyped up, including myself, for deadline day. I honestly have no fucking idea why. I’m more shocked, that myself and others, are shocked that this is the outcome of the transfer window.
False promises, followed by more. A complete shambles from top to bottom. It’s just embarrassing. There’s only one direction this club is ultimately heading if things don’t change, and it’s not the way we want it to be heading.
Fucking hell, things have got that bad, even our fucking net in the south stand didn’t want us to kick-off on Saturday afternoon…
No hiding away. There’s going to be some harsh questions at that fans forum that are going to be asked, and big answers are needed. This fan base deserves that at least, Mr. Coleman.
I pray Luke Williams and the players can turn it around on the pitch, that’s all we can do is back the team. However, I will not be backing those higher up, who consistently fail to live up to their false expectations.
“We will be working every single day, to give you a football club to be proud of, a club that plays the Swansea way and is connected from top to bottom.”
Those were Andy Coleman’s words once the takeover was complete. Another was “Judge me by my actions, not my words.” We are, and that’s going well…
Coleman out!
