I try to make things that are awesome. One half of Superfun. Design engineer. BBQ, games, AI wonk. SXSW, Microsoft, NASDAQ, Blockchain, and other folks you know
Time for a little #vibecode show and tell: I made a Spotify jukebox! Made to run on a iPad at parties, it'll be a central spot to search/add songs without jumbling multiple devices or clearing queues on accident (yes, it happens, a lot). Here's a little video showing how it works! #buildinpublic
@levelsio Can vouch for American Tourister. Saw them on and old black and white gameshow, learned they were still around, bought multiples, all have been rock solid for years.
@Provee@useTRMNL I'll look into it! It was running on a @netlify function that ran a deploy every 15 mins, but now they charge for prod deploys, so I'll need to change out the codebase a bit.
I'll try to have it up and running well before July 4th. Glad someone else has been enjoying it!
nerd Jaws alert: my 1-bit Jaws demake film is now playing on my @useTRMNL e-ink display, from now until July 4th, with the following fun features:
- 🎞️ over 5k individual 1-bit frames
- 🎨 exactly two colors, black and not-black
- ⏱️ frame count in the bottom right (currently 225 of 5,300)
- 🖥️ follow/hack along at https://t.co/ePmzSd6QpM
submitted as a public TRMNL recipe, hope to share soon. until then, grab your own img URLs at https://t.co/ePmzSd6QpM
literally any other project I can paste in a screenshot (or just ramble with words) and get a layout that's about 90% the fidelity I'm looking for.
but not Godot! and the agents don't "see it" either, despite have visual testing enabled. they look at both (source, and output), wildly off-base, and go "YEP!"
if you're an AI nerd just looking for a fun challenge or benchmark, and are running out of "hard" things to test your agents on, I think I've found a hard edge frontier: layouts in the Godot game engine.
and not the 3D stuff, just plain ol 2D game buttons/HUDs/layouts. the agents are SO BAD at it.
gorgeous websites with design system? one prompt. fully baked iOS apps? a few prompts. multiple multiple Godot sessions with Opus 4.7 and Codex 5.5? still looking like hot garbage.
is it just me?
Big news: we bought a house with AI! First time buyers, no realtor, and we just closed way under asking price.
First up, big thanks to my realtor, Claude. And another big thanks to my real estate lawyer, Claude. We truly couldn't have done this without my accountant, Claude.
If you are familiar with AI and a little bit hard-headed, you can absolutely do this yourself. The other Realtors and the back kind of treated us like crazy people but here we are! Keys in hand and only AI all along the way
We vibe coded an app that found every property in our area. Then we ranked them all. Then contacted listing agents. We saw our favorites and made an offer. Closed 16% below asking with Claude handling all the negotiations.
