Coincidences/Easter eggs PT Anderson snuck into Licorice Pizza that I dug: Main character (who’s real life son of Phillip S Hoffman, PTAs late muse) is named Gary Valentine. 2017 PTA directed a music video titled “Valentine” for Haim (who all act in the film including lead role)

The movie’s based on the life of Tom Hanks’ pal/ biz partner Gary Goetzman. The title Licorice Pizza is from a chain of record stores in California from 70s-80s. Tom Hanks’ son Colin directed a documentary about Tower Records, a once defunct record store chain started in CA.
