If you haven’t heard, @trufelman and I started a new podcast about fashion and philosophy. Each month, we read canonical text — Voltaire, Rousseau, Hegel — and talk about how the author's ideas help us understand why we dress the way we do.

This new episode is about Lord Chesterfield, who, while not a philosopher, wrote a series of famous letters to his son over the course of the 18th century. These letters often contained instructions on how to be a gentleman, but they were part of Chesterfield’s bigger project to propel his son into a high-flying political career.
