We have had a great week in Reception- using our retrieval skills to do some colour mixing based on our Elmer text and after learning about circles in Maths we created our own circle art work like Fiona Rae. Well done! @stmarysderby

We have been discussing ‘People Who Help Us’ and we have done a range of creative crafts and role played fire stations, doctors and babies and ambulance stations. Lots of super language used by all. Well done. @stmarysderby

We had a great day at Conkers today. We used our knowledge of our senses to help us explore the woodland, swamp and garden areas. We made natural art and enjoyed a train ride. @stmarysderby

We really enjoyed studying the plants and trees in our wonderful grounds yesterday. Talking about how they made us feel and then sketching them in black and white. We then added more details before adding colour. Well done everyone. @stmarysderby

We enjoyed sharing a child led Celebration of the Word this afternoon. The Word they had chosen linked to our new RE topic and they were able to link in a hymn we learnt in our lesson this week to our celebration today. Well done to the leading group. @stmarysderby

We have been practising our art skills this week! We were inspired by our key text ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ to create a forest scene using paint and then our own LRRH using pencil crayons.

On Tuesday, the children returned from their lunch break to find we had been visited, from what we thought was a dinosaur! He left footprints and a big poo on the water tray! We have written our own newspaper reports to warn everyone. @stmarysderby @SRSCMAT

Today in PSHE we talked about how Jesus is a role model to use and how we can act to be like him. We decided we want to share, be kind, be caring, help people and love everyone, to be a special person like Jesus @stmarysderby

We have created our first display focused on our Mission day. We celebrated our Mission day this week by talking about our new school, our new routines and what we are enjoying about being here. @stmarysderby @SRSCMAT
