Today in Class 8 we celebrated national poetry day. We looked at the poem The Terrible Ten. We wrote our own poems inspired by The Terrible Ten. Take a look at our amazing work below. @stmarysderby

This week we have started our Romans Topic. We retrieved our knowledge of the continents and then applied this knowledge to find Italy on a map as well as countries which the Romans controlled. Well done everyone. @stmarysderby

This week in Class 8 we have revisited our English knowledge from Key Stage 1. We have written a narrative around the short film 'Taking Flight' and written our own character description making sure to include conjunctions and expanded noun phrases. @stmarysderby

In Class 8 this week we have linked our Topic 'Homes and Settlements' to the Catholic Social Teaching principles from CAFOD. Take a look at the amazing ideas which we came up with as a class. @stmarysderby

This week in Class 8 we have been writing Kenning poems based on our Topic Homes and Settlements. We have written all about the Vikings describing them using our poetry skills. @stmarysderby

Class 8 have completed lots of work this week looking at remembrance. We have dedicated our PSHE lessons to reflecting on the emotions that soldiers were feeling and how we could support them in our own lives. Well done everyone for their amazing contributions! @stmarysderby

@stmarysderby Class 8 have had a wonderful week celebrating World Book Day. We read a collection of books written by @TomPercivalsays and we loved Perfectly Norman! We wrote about all the things that make us perfectly class 8.
