People who tell you that we should tax billionaires more don’t know what they are talking about, and their comeback is always something along the lines “oh so want to protect billionaires and conglomerates.” No I think the government is fucking stupid
The United States Government is a full on grift machine.
Washington has already confiscated trillions from taxpayers.
Then it borrowed trillions more against their children.
Now the national debt is approaching $40 trillion.
Healthcare is still unaffordable.
College is still overpriced.
Housing is still out of reach.
The schools are still failing.
All of these problems are due to government interference.
And the people who produced this disaster now want Elon Musk’s wealth because they swear this next pile of money will finally be spent wisely.
Bullshit.
They already took the money.
They already spent the money.
They already failed.
Stealing another trillion from a man who built companies, factories, satellites, cars, and jobs will not make government competent.
It will only transfer wealth from the people who create it to the people who incinerate it.
Do people just not know anything anymore? The writers made them look incompetent to show the difficult of trying to control a massive empire (aka the size of a galaxy), kind of like every known empire in history.
The reason Andor is aging poorly for me is because I realized the Empire is insanely incompetent in the show and it ruins the whole "actually evil serious threat" thing
In the prison Cassian was through in there were a total of like 30 guards in the entire complex, which was a vital slave labor source for the most important industrial project the Empire was undertaking
The Empire sent more soldiers to antagonize Ferrix during Aunt Petunia's funeral because they are mustache twirling saturday morning villains instead of a serious entity
This the basic difference.
Republicans believe that that if you let the wealthy spend capital it will make Americans prosperous.
Democrats believe that the federal government investing in the healthcare & education of our people will make America prosperous & productive.
Most people don't understand the difference between having billions in the bank, liquid, & having ownership shares in companies worth billions. And I think it would behoove the media to explain this once in a while.
Idk there’s a decent amount of European cities with streets and neighborhoods trashed, graffiti covering historic buildings and churches. Yeah maybe their public transit is cleaner in Berlin, Paris, etc.
When I went back to the US last year (I partly grew up in the States) I was most struck by how degraded public spaces were, when public space existed at all. Americans are individually wealthy but collectively poor.
I don’t want to hear about how Europe is cleaner than the US etc. I’m in the city that invented Democracy and this place is trashed, everything is covered in graffiti. It’s like a 1980s movie in NYC
