Today marks the 51st anniversary of Woodstock 1969.
Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead, The Who, Janis Joplin and others performed in a three-day counterculture event that would define rock for decades. πΈπ
Prince's Trust Concert, 1987:
George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynne, Phil Collins, Ringo Starr, Mark King, Elton John and others join up and perform "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Legendary.
@ClassicRockerz_ The sparse "ooh la la" backing vocals, grounded acoustic guitar work by Keith Richards, and light percussion all give the song a unique allure.
And of course, Mick Jagger's lead vocals were an excellent fit alongside the other supporting elements.
A masterpiece.
@ClassicRockerz_ She's a Rainbow.
The recurring, spirited piano and mellotron from Nicky Hopkins and Brian Jones is brilliant.
Contributions from John Paul Jones on the strings are a nice touch towards the middle of the song.
