#morninglistening to WilliamWalton's two Symphonies w/the @TheCBSO & KazukiYamada on @DGclassics. A good deal of Holst in Sy.1; always good to hear these works. Clever choice.

#morninglistening to a #Bruckner 8th I'm genuinely looking forward to: the late great Stanisław Skrowaczewski w/the YomiuriNipponSymphonyOrchestra in 2016. A Denon recording in the great re-issue series on mdg.classics!

JEDERMANN! Leider Keinermann - den Carsen/Hochmair unterlaufen in ihrer Art den von ihnen propagierten Sinn des Moralstückes. Da hilft auch die goldene Discokugel nicht.

This insightful overview of the life and legacy of conductor Kurt Masur (1927-2015), born on this day, was written by @ClassicalCritic Jens Laurson for Steinway's "Listen" - The Unlikely Unifier.

#morninglistening to an exciting disc of JSBach: 11 years after vol. 5, this disc by KeiKoito on Claves, recorded 6 years ago, has surprised me happily. Koito-interruptus, one might say.

@WyattGwyon1711 I have never quite liked Tuchel; something about him rubs me the wrong way. But yesterday's loss was 100% on his players stopping to play ball. His response made sense but his players just couldn't or wouldn't respond and continued to give ARG the ball back.
The World Cup has set new levels for moronic takes on who should-have-could-have won.
I don't mean legitimate complaints; there was cause for plenty. But selective, irrational whining whenever things didn't go your way.
