At this moment in America’s journey, I know hope can feel hard to come by. I know right now it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s hard to believe that if we work for it, the progress we need will come. But we must never forget that we are the beneficiaries of seemingly impossible change becoming a reality.
That’s only true because previous generations persevered despite every reason to give up. But they didn’t: they summoned their hope, they found the light, and they changed the world.
As I assume the privilege of serving the state I love in Congress, I pledge my unwavering faith in our continued ability to turn our hope into historic progress – because it has always been in our country’s most significant challenges that we take our biggest steps forward.
I'm proud to have voted for @KamalaHarris and the inclusive vision of America her campaign represented. Though we came up short - our work in Maryland is a shining example of what we're capable of. @AlsobrooksForMD is our next U.S. senator and reproductive rights are protected.
I just proudly cast my ballot with my daughter, Alex.
In her first election, Alex got to vote for her mom for Senate, and for Kamala Harris to be our next President.
North Carolina voters turned out for LGBTQ+ equality today 🗳🏳️🌈
NC decisively rejected Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson’s hateful anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and voted to elect NC AG Josh Stein, a friend to LGBTQ+ communities. #election2024
Rashaun Kemp wins in Georgia! Kemp will be the first out gay Black man elected to the Georgia State legislature. The State Senator-Elect spoke with GLAAD about why he got into politics. https://t.co/YQ8Kp90OIs
BREAKING: New York has passed #Prop1!
New Yorkers used their vote to permanently protect abortion statewide, and showed up for LGBTQ, immigrant, and disabled New Yorkers by approving the most progressive and comprehensive state Equal Rights Amendment in the country.
Thank you, Delaware! Because of your votes and your values, I am proud to be your next member of Congress.
Delaware has sent the message loud and clear that we must be a country that protects reproductive freedom, that guarantees paid leave and affordable child care for all our families, that ensures that housing and health care are available to everyone and that this is a democracy that is big enough for all of us.
Honored to be the first Black trans woman elected to public office in Cook County tonight. Together, we’ve made history. Over the next two years, I’ll fight to protect Lake Michigan, champion environmental justice, and amplify voices too long ignored. The work continues.
Marylanders just made history by voting YES on Question 1.
This victory marks a powerful declaration for bodily autonomy and ensures that the essential freedoms to access abortion, contraception, and other reproductive health services are safeguarded.

Big picture: Given the counties reporting so far in WI, MI, PA, and AZ...and the counties (mostly urban areas/suburbs) lagging/still to report, Harris is in good shape to win those four swing states and finish with 281 EV. Losing GA + NC would be irrelevant. #election2024
Love the civic energy in Silver Spring & Takoma Park! A ton of voters & volunteers out today for @KamalaHarris@AlsobrooksForMD & Question 1 💪
