Exercise was the first thing in months that gave back exactly what I put in. The job took effort and returned a knife. The miles took effort and returned a clearer head, every single time. When everything else lies to you, find the thing that pays honest. Then do it daily.

The body keeps the score, so I started moving. Not for the mirror. For the head. A long walk does something no amount of thinking can do. You cannot out-ruminate a problem sitting still. Movement is where the loop finally breaks. I solved more on foot than I ever did in a chair.
