@PierrePoilievre Ironically your best chance of having any meaningful impact on this would be to declare yourself in support of Alberta separation. That might really get you leverage in talking about this.
How did the career of Alberta's last 7 premiers end?
Jason Kenney (UCP 2019-2022) resigned before the end of his first term, when he only got 51.4% at the AGM leadership review. Wanted to be a big fish in a little pond.
Rachel Notley (NDP 2015-2019) was defeated in a general election. She only served one term.
Jim Prentice (PCP 2014-2015) Saw an opportunity to jump from federal to provincial politics. Won the leadership, got appointed Premier, convinced Smith to cross the floor, called a snap election, got crushed and sent packing.
Dave Hancock (PCP March-Sept 2014) You're probably wondering: who? He was interim leader after the Redford fiasco. He resigned to make way for Prentice and retired.
Alison Redford (PCP 2011-2014) She also got appointed Premier in 2011. She won the 2012 election. She resigned amid a bunch of scandals, including the notorious "Sky Palace". She had a full-blown caucus revolt.
Ed "Steady Eddie" Stelmach (PCP 2006-2011) Became premier when he won the leadership race after Klein's resignation. He was 3rd on the first ballot, but somehow came out on top after 3 rounds of voting. He won his general election, but resigned before the end of his term. He made the mistake of trying to collect more money from royalties.
Ralph "The King" Klein (PCP 1992-2006) Extremely popular premier. He became Premier in 1992 when he won the party leadership race. He then won 4 general elections. He resigned half way through his 4th term, when he only got 55% at his leadership review.
The last 6 premiers of Alberta each only technically served 1 term.
4 resigned before the end of their term.
Yes, Albertans are tough on their leaders, but that's because we expect them to keep their word, and act with integrity.
Some argue we create turmoil for nothing, but the facts say otherwise. Alberta has been the economic engine of the country for the last 50 year, so whatever we're doing (including how we recycle leaders) is working for us.
Good morning friends
A direct message to Pierre Poilievre
@PierrePoilievre@CPC_HQ
As an Albertan I understand your position, you are a federal politician, I get it
But I don't think its wise for you to come to Alberta and oppose Independence
You can't win an election now. And despite Canada being an economic dumpster fire for some reason liberals continue to gain support
And they will get a majority government via floor crossers and backroom deals regardless
You had a chance to have an election and you conservatives hid in parliament during the budget vote
Alberta is the main reason you ever have a chance to win anything
Now you will join the side of the NDP, Liberals and a Canada being thrust into poverty, debt and a lower standard of living to trap Albertans within this system and keep us as tax slaves in a resource colony
We will look at you just like we look at the NDP and Liberals, with disgust
You are free to do and say as you please but please note if you turn against Albertans, our families and our desire to survive you are ensuring federal liberal governments forever
How many votes will you lose in Alberta? I don't know, but if you can't win an election now, or hide from them, you definitely aren't winning in the future after losing Albertans support
To each their own, but if you or your team can't easily forsee what I just explained here, i'm not sure what to say
You should just stay out of it
Have a great day Pierre
- a former conservative voter and hardcore volunteer in Alberta who will never support you again if you oppose my family's long term survival
Probably one of many
The West Wants Out: Alberta Edges Closer to Independence from Canada
Canada’s most conservative province, Alberta, has grown increasingly frustrated with the federal government in Ottawa for decades. Now, the movement for greater autonomy—or even full independence—is gaining serious momentum.
In this Frontlines TPUSA exclusive, reporters @TaylerUSA and @kiansimone44 head west to speak with the leaders of Alberta’s independence movement. They explore what a more independent Alberta could mean for America’s energy and national security.
@TPUSA
One of my main issues with separatism, both in Quebec and in Alberta, is that I view both provinces as part of my inheritance as a Canadian. Carving out either province fundamentally changes my country, and the only people who get a say on such a matter are registered voters currently living in that province. A brand new citizen who became eligible to vote only one day before a referendum would have the ability to vote on whether or not to change Canada forever. My ancestors settled in Alberta in the early 20th century before moving to Ontario.
I asked Alberta independence activist Keith Wilson to respond to this concern. Listen to his response:
Dear Premier Smith,
A referendum to have a referendum… after two justices told you, you could call Mitch Sylvestre’s question under Section 1 of the Referendum Act is hardly decisive or honest leadership.
On Thursday you lied to everyone in Alberta when you falsely claimed you couldn’t use either Lukaszuk’s question or Mitch’s question because of “the courts”. The courts in fact said the opposite.
Chief Alan Adam had his picture taken SIGNING the Lukaszuk petition. How would he oppose THAT question.
The simple fact is that you promised Mark Carney that there wouldn’t be a vote on independence this year. By stabbing 301,620 of YOUR VOTERS in the back you delivered on the promise as part of the package to sell out Alberta for a Chinese pipeline to Asia. No binary choice for Albertans as you promised. Only political sleight of hand.
You have lost the ability to refer to yourself as “Right Honourable” . You have lost the moral authority to lead the UCP.
Please resign.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey R.W. Rath

To my fellow independence supporters: It is time to cross the Rubicon.
We must fully commit to independence. No turning back.
As Canada is accelerating toward an authoritarian police state, it will not matter who the Premier is if we can’t get there before the end of the year.
Therefore:
1. 22 UCP Constituency Associations (CA’s) must simultaneously pass a motion to convene a Special General Meeting (SGM) for a leadership review.
2. Danielle Smith must be removed and a pro independence Premier voted-in.
3. Once the new Premier is sworn in, a motion to halt the current referendum, and replace it with a binding constitutional referendum on secession must be passed.
Concerns about vote splitting must be ignored as the Smith UCP or the NDP being in charge will be irrelevant once Canada has implemented all the destruction that’s currently on the horizon.
Remember:
- 88% of our trade is with the United States.
- The US is by all indications going to announce the cancellation of CUSMA July 1st.
- This will begin a 6 month countdown before the treaty lapses.
We cannot afford to wait. And we have no power to stop anything that Ottawa is doing due to Carney’s majority in the House of Commons along with the 100 out of 105 senators that were appointed by Trudeau.
Hey @elonmusk
We’re getting some pretty draconian surveillance laws here, Bill c-22
Any chance you could allow canadian Starlink customers to run their Internet connection through USA and bypass big brother ottawa?
THIS IS CRUEL AND UNACCEPTABLE IN A SOCIETY THAT CLAIMS TO BE CIVILIZED!
SHAME ON THE POILIEVRE’S FAKE CONSERVATIVES WHO REMAIN SILENT IN THE FACE OF THESE LATE-TERM ABORTIONS AND APPROVE OF THESE MURDERS!
The PPC welcomes a debate on abortion. We must stop listening to hysterical feminists who have hijacked this issue for too long.
The People’s Party believes it is time for Canada to join the civilized world by enacting reasonable restrictions on abortion that balance the rights of the mother with the protection of unborn life.
A People's Party government will:
-Foster a National Debate on Abortion
Break the taboo surrounding abortion and encourage an open, respectful, and fact-based discussion on this issue. Challenge other political parties to explain why they believe killing a healthy and viable unborn child is morally acceptable and should remain legal.
-Align Canada with International Standards on Abortion
Introduce the Protection of Preborn Children Act to bring Canada in line with the laws of other civilized countries, where abortion is gradually restricted after the first trimester and late-term abortions are prohibited except in exceptional circumstances. PPC MPs will be free to vote on the issue of abortion according to their conscience.

@Zees0070@Niekie888@howertonjosh@JohnBevere What happens if some version of this Messiah appears and says otherwise, or offers some interpretation that works for both Catholics and Muslims?
@togootto The tactics they use came from the book "Rules for Radicals" which was somewhat inspired by Satan. Alinsky described Lucifer as "the first radical known to man" in the book.
