Still very much worth seeing imo, and I still really like the movie, but it comes so close to being something truly great and I wish the writing wasn't holding it back.

Having sat with it, and seen it a second time lats night I've got so many mixed thoughts on The Backrooms movie. Absolutely incredible opening scene, decent first act, phenomenal second act, and then a third act that just kinda pisses me off

My issues really just lie with the writing. Everything is executed so well - the set design, the effects, the soundtrack, editing, etc. Extremely atmospheric spectacle. But fuck I wish the writing was better.

For context this is the emo band with members from Open Eyes Elysia (a band I love). Cold Craving fromed in 2008, so this likely would have been their first release. Their first full album would come out in 2010. This release isn't on their bandcamp or discogs, had no it existed
