My latest piece for @OxfordEnergy was a fun one to research and develop. It’s great to see investment into CO2 logistics in Europe… but regulations need to be enablers. Read 👇🏾
There are two incontrovertible facts about energy sustainability:
1) we need to use less energy to sustainably reduce emissions and
2) we need diverse sources of energy to sustainably support humanity on earth.

Norway has made a major breakthrough with #hydrogen in the heavy transportation sector with Quantron set to distribute the zero-emission vehicles across the region. https://t.co/9Jpgxy4k1j
Major companies around the world are actively investing in #hydrogen to accelerate our energy transition.
Hydrogen will be a key part of our solutions to tackle #climatechange and achieve #netzero emissions.
I'm often asked why I'm critical of @Tesla / $TSLA and @elonmusk and how that fits with my investment in and advocacy for clean energy technology.
My criticisms are based on my experience as an engineer, clean energy developer and former investment banker. A thread 👇🏻

My latest paper discussing the role of #CCUS in Canada’s economic and energy future was published by the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies. Stay tuned for the podcast in a couple of weeks!

#Hydrogen power is not just clean & green, it can also save money. Today, it can cost between €1-3 million on average to add new electrical overhead infrastructure to a single km of #rail lines – and that doesn’t include regular repair & #maintenance. https://t.co/RNheUFomVN
Daroga Power will deploy 32.5MW of Bloom Energy #hydrogen solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) to produce renewable, clean power at customer sites in California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Maryland. https://t.co/rdh2w1EdGn

The more things change, the more they stay the same. The GHG reduction focus MUST include energy consumption and efficiency, not just resources.
Electric cars are booming. But what are the environmental costs of all those batteries? | CBC Radio https://t.co/oCFsEXy1DS
Delighted to see @BusinessGreen featuring our partnership with @H2Bayo. Excited our innovative #CCUS technology will be used to make small-scale H2 and CO2 production affordable.

Frankly, if there’s any industry that’s even more behind the eight-ball than oil/gas when it comes to the energy transition, it’s the mining industry. At least oil/gas is actually putting in work to turn the tide.
Are you doing some interesting as a startup in the renewable energy space (clean cooking, decentralized RE finance) in Africa?
It would be great to speak/engage with you.

What 2020 & 2021 taketh, 2022 & 2023 giveth. Fundamentally, global carbon emissions policies and enforcement remain weak, so this shouldn’t surprise anyone.
