@KathrynPorter26 @Chatty_si @aDissentient Yes that’s right, but I wonder why they are investing more heavily than any other county into wind and solar? They are way ahead of everyone. I would love to know why.
@g__j@Masdar China is so removed from the political biases of the west that it shows us that going all in on renewable tech is an investment made on cold hard material science.
@KathrynPorter26 Community energy projects are mostly paid for through private community share offers. The local community will pay for the cost of a solar installation on a school roof, and then get about 5% interest a year on their investment by selling the solar energy to the school for cheap

Simplicity Wins
Electric motors (on the left) have fewer parts, wear out less quickly, require less repair and maintenance, have better performance, much lower CO2 generation, and are simply cheaper compared to combustion engines (on the right) and yet legacy car manufacturers don't seem to fully get this simple truth.
